On Friday 11th September the band 3 STRIPE AVENUE gave a lunchtime concert for students. This event was organised by the SRC and the money raised from the event is going to Sydney Childrens Hospital. A big thankyou to 3 Stripe Avenue for giving their time for free and to the SRC for organising the event. |

Author of 'He'll be OK! Growing Gorgeous Boys into Good Men,' Celia Lashlie gave a hugely entertaining and thought-provoking talk at our school on the evening of 15th September. Parents from SSHS, primary and high schools all over the Sydney region attended. The hall was full to capacity and we could have filled a much bigger hall such was the demand for tickets. We hope to continue these types of talks into the future. BIG THANKYOU TO Savana Simpson & Katy Bedoya for the initial idea, persistence and hard work in organising the event the office staff for their hard work, Janeece in particular who was a pillar of strength in her organization and forethought Alex Semba (graphic design), Eniko Toth (water & chocolate sales) and all the parents who helped publicise Mr Fitzpatrick for allowing the school to host the event and his work in promoting it students Massimo & Zachery Bedoya, Charles Simpson, Akos & Timea Toth who together collected tickets and sold chocolate & bottled water Dymocks Maroubra who sold Celia's book on the night and are giving 10% of these sales to the school. |

It is always great to see students giving something to the community. A group of students recently donated blood at the Red Cross Mobile service in Mascot. Click here to see some photos. It was some of the year 12 student 'blood donation regulars' 5th blood donation! Well done:-) |

We were lucky to have some visitors from Kosuge High School in Japan for 3 days in Term 3. Several students and teachers hosted the Japanese students and took part in a cultural exchange. It was a great experience for everyone and new friendships were formed. Click here to see some photos. |
